Critical Decisions in Emergency and Acute Care Electrocardiography
This scenario-based text provides answers to urgent and emergent questions in acute, emergency, and critical care situations focusing on the electrocardiogram in patient care management. The text is arranged in traditional topics areas such as ACS, dysrhythmia, etc yet each chapter is essentially a question with several cases illustrating the clinical dilemma – the chapter itself is a specific answer to the question.
This is a unique format among textbooks with an ECG focus. The clinical scenarios cover the issues involved in detecting and managing major cardiovascular conditions. Focused, structured .discussion then solves these problems in a clinically relevant, rapid, and easy to read fashion.
This novel approach to ECG instruction is ideal for practicing critical care and emergency physicians, specialist nurses, cardiologists, as well as students and trainees with a special interest in the ECG.

Echocardiographic Anatomy in the Fetus
Whether in fetal or postnatal life, echocardiographic diagnosis is based on moving images. With recent advances in ultrasound systems, storing multiple digital frames and clips with superb image quality has become a reality. These advances have brought innovative applications into the clinical field and can be integrated into powerful multimedia presentations for teaching purposes.
Sections of cardiac specimens are usually compared with corresponding sections in echocardiography textbooks. These sections are mainly obtained from isolated hearts, due to ease and speed of acquisition. Nevertheless, sections of the whole body are a better tool with which to understand the relationship between cardiac and extracardiac structures. This understanding is particularly important in fetal echocardiography, where the number of visible structures around the heart is much greater and the approaches to the fetal thorax are more variable.
The DVD accompanying the book presents morphological images from tomographic sections of the whole fetal body, as well as high-quality dynamic echocardiographic images of normal fetuses and of some of the most common congenital heart defects.
The extraordinary amount of information provided in this work makes this publication a highly useful resource for obstetricians, sonographers, and pediatric cardiologists.

Trauma, Critical Care and Surgical Emergencies - 2010 Edition
This book provides a comprehensive and contemporary discussion about the three key areas of acute care surgery; trauma, surgical critical care, and surgical emergencies. The 65 chapters are arranged by organ, anatomical site and injury type, and each includes a case study with evidence-based analysis of diagnosis, management, and outcomes. Unless stated otherwise, the authors used the GRADE evidence classification system established the American College of Chest Physicians.
Trauma, Critical Care and Surgical Emergencies is essential reading for all surgeons, fellows, residents and students, especially those working in trauma, emergency, and critical care environments.

Clinical Neuroembryology Development and Developmental Disorders of the Human Central Nervous System
The spectacular progress in developmental neurobiology, the dramatic advances in (neuro)genetics and the high resolution of the modern imaging techniques applicable to developmental disorders of the human brain and spinal cord have created a novel insight into the developmental history of the central nervous system (CNS). Clinical Neuroembryology provides a comprehensive overview of the development of the human CNS in the context of its many developmental disorders due to genetic, environmental and hypoxic causes. It is unique in the combination of data from human embryology, animal research and developmental neuropathology
